HEARTS ENGAGED

Big news: I bought a book.
Yes, I know – shocking for anyone who knows me.
But here’s the thing… this past fall, I had been thinking about creating a prayer book for couples. I even started a new file (yes, a physical one… because I’m old school), made lists of prayer topics, and dreamed about how I wanted it to look – daily prayers that could heal, guide, and remind us to see our spouse through eyes of love.
Then, in true 'research mode,' I did a quick search on Amazon… and there it was: "The Marriage Gift" by Aaron & Jennifer Smith. I ended up buying it, and wow – it is amazing. It offers 365 prayers for our marriage, and honestly, these prayers are just that good.
It’s kind of sweet realizing I don’t have to write my own book… this one is excellent, far beyond what I could have done on my own.
(I should say – this is not a paid promotion! I genuinely love this book, and if you’ve been looking for something similar, I would wholeheartedly recommend it.)
So why buy a prayer book for your marriage?
Easiest answer… why not?
Ray and I accepted long ago that we need God’s direction, His guidance, His peace, and His love… we don’t want to try navigating life without Him.
Taking the time to pray for one another is an opportunity to let God correct what needs correction, heal what’s broken, and remind us to see our spouse through eyes of love – even when life gets messy.
I can’t imagine where I’d be without Jesus. He loves us, and my prayer for this year has been simple: to fully accept His love, to let His love change me, and to share His love with others.
We’re 28 days into this new year, and I’m so grateful to walk it alongside Ray… the prayers in this little book are helping us lift each other up, love the journey we get to walk hand-in-hand, and remind us how precious it is to share this life together.
